Shropshire Inclusive Dance is delighted to present the Dancing in the Moment Weekender on July 4th& 5th, 2026
A weekend of improvisation-based workshops, sharing of work from our community and company classes and professional performances based in the lovely Theatre Severn Dance Studio in Shrewsbury
The two days unite dancers, artists, friends, and family in a relaxed, informal, inclusive environment where we have the time and space to meet one another, dance together, feel nurtured, and celebrate the wonderful work we do.
The weekend includes workshop led by dancemaker and performer Jo Fong. As maker and performer Jo is currently involved in a number of dance, theatre and live art performances and making processes. Jo’s creative work reflects the need in these times for people to come together. Her artistic practice is an evolving, collaborative approach which puts ideas around belonging or forming community in the forefront.
The Jo Fong workshops with our Darwin Dancers and Contact Dance Company classes invites participants to explore the unknown; to move, play, respond, follow, listening, embodying, generating, noticing… What happens next is not anything we can predict.
The weekend culminates in a Dancing in the Moment Jam for Contact Dance Company members and friends, a chance to dance our socks off under the inspiring guidance of Jo Fong.
