‘Opening the Treasure Chest’ is taking place at The Hive in Shrewsbury on Thursday 21st of March and Thursday 18th April, from 1.30 – 4pm

Often learning-disabled people are not given the chance to grieve in their own way and at their own pace. This creative workshop using voice, movement and drama aims to support learning-disabled people to live through loss and bereavement as positively as possible.

The workshop will be led by Ray Jacobs an experienced creative facilitator, and associate artist with DASH, (Disability Arts Shropshire)

The workshop will include a sharing of a short film about a learning disabled mans quest to find memories of his father ‘The Sea Reminds Me’. The film stars Mervyn Bradley a Shrewsbury based professional learning disabled dancer, who as well as being the main actor, helped create the storyline and script for the film.Attendance at the workshops is by advance booking only, for further information or to book please contact Ray Jacobs on 01743 792052
